Job description
We are seeking a skilled QA Engineer to join our team. This role supports testing across Windows applications, mobile apps, devices, or web, with a focus on a Windows-based video capture application integrated with a cloud service. You will work independently, applying your Windows testing experience to ensure quality based on requirements. You’ll collaborate with developers and stakeholders to deliver reliable software, leveraging your expertise without needing detailed “how-to” training.
Your skills and experience
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute test plans and cases, performing functional, regression, integration, performance, and exploratory testing.
- Identify, document, and track defects in tools like Jira, collaborating with developers and QA peers to resolve issues.
- Work with cross-functional teams to define requirements and participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives).
- Track quality metrics and provide concise reports on test results, coverage, and system quality.
- Manage task priorities, recommend trade-offs when needed, and contribute to improving QA processes and tools.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance, preferably on Windows platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of the Windows operating system and proficiency with its tools (e.g., Event Viewer, CMD/PowerShell, Resource/Performance Monitor).
- Basic understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting (e.g., private vs. public networks, NAT, firewalls, ping, tracert, IPv4).
- Expertise in manual testing with a strong grasp of testing methodologies, including functional, regression, and performance testing.
- Good at written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies, along with tools like Jira.
- Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities.
