The Challenge
Axon's rapid growth and ambitious product roadmap presented a significant staffing challenge. Finding and recruiting the caliber of talent required to meet their stringent standards, while scaling quickly to keep pace with demand, was a complex undertaking. Traditional recruitment methods proved insufficient to source the specialized skills and specific cultural fit Axon required.
The Yoong Solution
Yoong embedded directly into Axon's hiring process as their dedicated technical staffing partner in Vietnam — not as a recruiter passing CVs, but as an extension of the engineering team.
We built a structured screening pipeline purpose-built for Axon's bar: coding assessments, system design reviews, and English proficiency scoring, applied consistently across every candidate. Out of 40,000+ profiles evaluated, roughly 8,000 cleared technical screening — and from those, we submitted only the candidates we'd confidently put in front of Axon's own engineering leads.
The result: 50+ engineers placed across Backend, Frontend, Manual QA, Automation QA, and DevOps — specialists in AWS, .NET Core, Golang, Java, Scala, and Microservices — integrated directly into Axon's core team under a staff augmentation model. They work on Axon's production infrastructure: new feature development, platform reliability, and end-to-end QA across hardware, APIs, and databases.
23 engineers remain active today, with an average retention of nearly two years. And for 9 of those engineers, Axon chose to convert them to full-time employees — the clearest signal a client can send about quality.
